| The device for gradual abdominal closure SimDesign is a medical device for the closure of multi-layer tissue, more specifically for the abdominal wall in conditions in which the abdomen of the patient should be left open temporarily. The closure system allows the surgeon to easily install the device during the procedure, suturing the device to the fascia of the abdominal wall. The device allows by means of a mechanism of assembly of medial traction the union of the two ends of the fascia, and the control of the closing force day by day, to optimize the gradual closing of the abdominal wall and to avoid tissue damage of the abdominal wall. Additionally, the abdominal closure system has a drainage and irrigation system embedded to maintain the abdominal cavity moist and clean. |
