Whitehead Intellectual Property Office is seeking a licensee for the invention, Antifungal Hydrogels. Researchers at the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research and Massachusetts Institute of Technology have created a dextran-based hydrogel which can have an effector compound associated with it (such as amphotericin). Such an antifungal hydrogel can be used to coat medical devices such as bandages, catheters, drains and tubes to prevent infection.
