This technology consists of a monoclonal antibody that binds to the transcription factor, NCOA6 (nuclear receptor coactivator 6, also known as ASC-2, AIB-3, TRB, TRAP250 and NRC), which has been shown to be important in coactivation of several receptors, including prostanoid, retinoid, vitamin D3, thyroid hormone and steroid. The present antibody has proven to be a successful reagent for Western Blotting and for purifying protein complexes containing NCOA6. Through the use of this antibody, it was determined, via Western analysis, that NCOA6 is over-expressed in several breast cancer cell lines. In addition, purification experiments with this antibody have identified a protein complex containing NCOA6 (the ASCOM complex).
Amplification and overexpression of ASC-2 in human cancers.
This monoclonal antibody can be used for analytical procedures such as Western Blotting and Immunoprecipitation, as wll as for stduying the role of NCOA6 in transcription, along with investigating the ASCOM complex
