This invention is a novel approach to drug delivery. It is a radiotelemetry capsule tracked by a complex, multiemement, phased antenna array in conjunction with a microprocessor and proprietary software. The system is designed to deliver a therapeutic dose to a pre-determined region of the GI tract. The system does not involve x-rays, so its application limits a patients exposure to ionizing radiation. The capsule may also be used as a means to deliver medication, which would normally be degraded in the stomach, to the intestines for safe release and absorption.
