This invention is an oral vaccination that aims to prevent bacterial infectious diarrhea. This oral vaccine induces a potent anti-pathogen immune response and has the potential to be utilized for a variety of bacterial strains that cause diarrhea.

Background
There are a large number of bacterial strains that result in infectious diarrhea ranging from E. coli to Salmonella. Bacterial strains that cause diarrhea kill roughly 1.31 million people on an annual basis, the large majority of which are children in developing countries. Currently, there is not a vaccine to prevent a wide array of infections.
